Of all my Christmas memories, the best ones involve baking Christmas cookies with my mom. It was not an undertaking for the faint of heart. Every December, we began buying unfathomable amounts of flour, sugar, butter and eggs, which would be transformed into holiday family favorites such as biscotti, pizzelles, and butter balls. Mom and I would spend days rolling and dipping and cutting and sprinkling while singing “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby and “Frosty the Snowman” with Burl Ives. Once finished, the cookies would be assembled onto trays, tied with shiny ribbons, and given as presents to everyone we knew, including the mailman.
I'm sure I'm not alone in my love of baking Christmas cookies. So, tell me, what are your favorite Christmas cookies? Do you have certain cookies that get baked only during the holidays? Got any cookie baking tips? Please share them with us in the comment section below.
